While they say your wedding day is all about you, in some cases, that couldn’t feel any further from the truth. Couples often feel the pressure of entertaining and impressing guests, sometimes getting so overshadowed by the expectations of others that they get lost in the process.

At Amanda Wolf Productions, we're not here to simply choreograph routines; we're here to craft experiences. Our approach is rooted in the belief that your first dance should be an expression of your connection, your style, and your wedding dreams. Whether you envision an intimate, romantic sway that transports you away from the world or a dynamic performance that captivates your audience, we're here to bring your vision to life.

Your love deserves more than a cookie-cutter routine; more than a song of stress and panic worrying about steps and skills. It deserves a memory of pure love and connection with your partner on the day you both committed to forever.

the woman behind the steps

As a lifelong dancer and professional since the age of 17, Amanda loves teaching others how to dance.  Originally from Milwaukee, Amanda moved to Pittsburgh in 2008 to pursue a professional competitive dance partnership.

In 2012, Amanda created Pittsburgh Wedding Dance, which became the first studio in the area to specialize in First Dance choreography. She’s grown since then and has an incredible reputation among Pittsburgh's elite wedding professionals. Over the course of her career, she has choreographed for over 1300 weddings!

Amanda's down to earth, friendly approach to instruction and genuine passion for helping people enjoy their experience on the dance floor shines through in every lesson she teaches.

  • Amanda Wolf Productions offers a relaxed, private learning atmosphere. Lessons are 50 minutes in length, which gives us enough time to focus on the steps and choreography without being rushed. My studio is a great place for a date night, so feel free to BYOB or enjoy a complimentary beer or hard seltzer while you dance! We will also spend a few minutes in the first lesson chatting about all the wonderful details of your fabulous day! If possible, please bring pictures of you in your wedding dress.

  • Choreography is built around the experience you wish to have on the dance floor while taking into consideration the details of your wedding and your comfort level on the dance floor.

  • No worries! You aren't the first, and you won't be the last couple to start your lessons without a song picked out. Amanda has been doing this for over 15 years, and can help you pick a song you'll be happy to dance to!

  • We have done it all! Got a great idea for your first dance? Let's make it happen!

  • Dancing in a wedding dress can be tricky! As a former dress designer for couture dance costumes, Amanda has years of experience working with a variety of dresses and will choreograph around any concerns you may have while highlighting the unique features of your dress!

Please bring a picture of you in your dress, as well as a pair of shoes similar to what you will be wearing for your wedding to your first lesson.

  • This is more common than you may think, and why we ALWAYS make sure all honor dances are covered. Just because your family is far away, doesn't mean you can't have a great Father/Daughter or Mother/Son dance!

  • This. Is. Normal.

And a very common question. Let's talk about your feelings about dancing and how much you'd like to acknowledge the audience during your dance.

It’s your wedding day. Let's create something awesome YOU will enjoy!

  • We are not like typical dance studios. No pink tutus, horrible music, or an audience watching you take your first lesson. We have a relaxed and friendly adult atmosphere. Enjoy a free glass of wine or beer while you learn something new, laugh, and have fun with the person you will be marrying!

  • Ideally, I like to schedule the last lesson 7-10 days before your wedding day. (Trust me, you'll be too busy the week of!) Then, we'll schedule working backward at least every other week.

However, we can absolutely schedule weekly leading up to your wedding or space lessons out monthly if needed.

  • We get this question a lot! And the answer is YES! However, there are pros and cons to dancing to live music, which Amanda will go over with you during your consultation.

  • While I'm not completely against fading a song out after a couple of minutes, I am definitely going to try to talk you out of it! Four minutes can sound like an eternity now, but don't rule out dancing for the whole song! The truth is, that may be the only four minutes in the whole day that you will be completely unbothered, with a chance to look around at your beautiful wedding and let it hit you... You're married now!

  • No. This is YOUR moment. You do not owe anyone a performance on your wedding day! A great first dance doesn't have to be just for your guests. It can (and should!) be a beautiful moment for you and your new spouse to enjoy in a way that is comfortable for you.

Have no fear- some of the best First Dance pictures can come from choreographing with this in mind!
